You know, I love this manhua, it has some of the best Chinese to English translation I’ve seen. (I usually avoid manhuas and other Chinese media because of the atrocious, nonsensical translations, but this one’s is actually decent.) However, I have a huge gripe. How is it that Lin Jie doesn’t comprehend that magic exists in that world? First of all, he got to that world in the first place because he managed to summon what he likely thought of as a spirit that he made a deal with. Second, that ‘spirit’ frequently opens up portals for him. Third, he has long since realized that Candel was, in fact, a ghost. Fourth, he knows that Silver is real and is an incomprehensible being who created her own dream, which is like her personal world. Fifth, he, himself, has used the power of ether/aether, whichever translation you prefer, and created his own dreamscape/world. So, why is it, that he’s totally oblivious to magic? It’s a bit annoying really.
