It honestly sounds like the 2nd Demon Lord just screwed his entire species over for no benefit. They are still isolated and everyone has them backed up against a wall for something basically one guy did half a millennia ago. The whole sin/miasma/monster loop is an ingenious way to deal with your enemies though. I feel like if 2nd Demon Lord was powerful enough to create an artifact that changed his whole race, he probably could have just appended to sin/miasma loop to be less destructive to the other races instead of nerfing all his future progeny.
