So the head of the pope faction is murdered, and some dark guild (again..) got in and did whatever they wanted without anyone noticing, (again…), and of course, stole something important alongside something that is most probably a decent chunk of that sealed orb for that god. (again…)

And that Cain, he has the Princess of this kingdom, a duke’s daughter, an elf princess, technically a saintess, technically another princess from the empire, and now a demon from a united continent of demons.

He has already technically conquered the world, it’s just a matter of time before he ties everything together through marriage.
Yet he still is playing dumb, as if he hasn’t been through this before and learned a lesson or two…
there are a couple of Factions within the church in this and one of them not only wants the Pope dead but also the Saint as well and have in fact tried earlier in this manga have tried to kill her using a lethal poison
